QST QST My name is Jerry Gregoire, kd7wlx. On September 11 the Tour de Cure will be held in Bozeman. We need volunteers to help with communications. The Tour is a 23, 56, and 100 mile benefit bike ride sponsored by the American Diabetes Association. The ride begins and ends at the Headwaters State Park near Three Forks, MT. Camping is available at the park and other local sites. If you can help out with comm support please call Jerry at 406 522 7392 or email me at tojerrygregoire(at sign)yahoo(dot)com. We had a great time last year. The Association will pay gas expenses, just save your receipts.

This question will come in multiple parts so here is the first. Who first thought of Single Side Band transmission?

Well partially correct. 1915 was the year he applied for the patent, however my sources tell me he worked for a different company. I still have one more part to the question, but I'll save it for later. >:D

Well the records I have show him working for a different company at the time.... However after further scrutinization, I find that AT&T was the parent company. J.R. Carson actually worked for Western Electric which was a manufacturing arm of AT&T. Ok next question, When was the patent actually issued for SSB? We know he filed for the patent in 1915....

Neither is correct but you are close so I'll tell you, the patent was issued in 1932 17 years after he first applied for it!
